Management once delegated a part of my project to a coworker. It took him three weeks, was buggy, and didn't follow the clearly laid out requirements (provided by someone else, it was not him misunderstanding my diction).

I did it in two days, correctly, from scratch because I had to throw the entire thing out. During that [three week] period, I kept having to explain to the client "Yes, so-and-so is continuing work and we should have a demo next week."
